Restaurants
There are a number of native restaurants/shacks, as they are known, in settlements along the island’s (very quiet) main road. Not far away Club Washington offers good quality Bahamian food and has indoor seating and Chez Pierre offers an excellent continental dinner. About 25 mins drive from Slipstream is Max’s Conch Bar. No visit to Long Island is complete without a few visits to this convivial bar to try freshly prepared (in front of you) conch salad and the bar’s famous conch burgers, as well as other native dishes. It has a casual Out Island atmosphere and is a great place to mingle with locals and meet other island visitors. The island’s resorts at Stella Maris and Cape Santa Maria are also good places for lunch, cocktails and dinner.
