Greener Living

At Slipstream we promote a simple, greener lifestyle. We do have a washing machine and a dishwasher, but we ask guests to make minimal use of them as water is in such short supply in The Bahamas. We also have a dryer but we encourage guests to peg out washing on our clothes lines to reduce energy-use. We compost waste and try to grow a few vegetables for the house. We also have coconut palms, banana and fruit trees in the garden. To protect our wildlife, we never use harmful sprays. Creatures at Slipstream include bug-eating geckos and frogs and yellow bananaquits that fly into the house to catch insects. We hope, in the near future, to install solar and other green technology at Slipstream.
